A Digital Certificates are software based documents signer devices, used to verify the identity of individuals, organizations, or websites. It is issued by a Certificate Authority (CA).
A DSC (Digital Signature Certificate) is an electronic form of signing documents. It is issued by Licensed Certifying Authorities (CAs) and is legally valid under the Information Technology Act, 2000 in India.
Following are the steps to DSC:

Select correct DSC types as per your usage
Class 3 DSC (Most used) – For Income Tax Returns, GST Returns, MCA Filings, EPF & ESIC Filings etc.
DGFT DSC – For filing and other works related to Import-Export transactions
Document Signer Certificate Organizations apply for automated document signing.

Choose a Certifying Authority (CA)
DSCs are issued by government-approved CAs like:
Sify
eMudhra
VSign
Capricorn CA, etc.

Collect Required Documents
For Individuals:
Passport-size photo
Mobile number & email ID
PAN Card
Aadhaar Card
For Company/organisation:
Company PAN Card
Certificate of Incorporation
Phone No.
Email ID
Authorized Signatory ID Proof
GST Certificate (if applicable)

Apply through a CA's website:
Select DSC Type (as detailed above)
Choose Validity Period (1, 2, or 3 years)
Submit Documents relevant KYC documents
Do video verification
Pay requisite fees
Get DSC Issued in USB token

Newly acquired DSC Install & Use
Before using a USB Token (pen drive device):
Insert the token into the USB port
Install DSC Driver from CA’s website
And finally DSC are ready for various filing and other signing.
