Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number (TAN) is a 10-digit alphanumeric code issued by the Income Tax Department. It is required for the persons responsible for deducting or collecting Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) the Income Tax Act.
Documents Required for TAN Registration
The following documents are required for TAN application, according to the category of applicant:
For all category of applicant
1. Form 49B application form at https://www.protean-tinpan.com
2. Proof of Identity
. PAN card, Aadhaar card, Voter ID, Passport etc.
3. Proof of Address:
• Registered lease deed or rent agreement, Latest Bank statements, Utility bills, Property tax receipts etc.
4. For Company / LLP applicant
Certificate of Incorporation
5. For partnerships firm
Partnership Deed.
6. For For Trusts
Trust Deed
7. For societies
Registration Certificate of society
8. Authority Letter
If an authorized representative is submitting the application.
Details of the Deductor/Collector: Name, designation, and PAN of the responsible person.
